Jay Z just might be the best boss in the world. According to Showbiz Spy, the BK mogul blessed his Roc Nation employees with a $50,000 bonus this year.
“Earlier this year he handed out $50,000 bonuses to everyone in his company, which includes assistants and very low-level people,” a Jay-Z employee reportedly told Star. “He even promised another bonus for Christmas.
The employee went on to say. “He’s extremely generous — most celebrities are super cheap when it comes to running their businesses. He knows if his employees are happy, it will benefit him in the long run."
He only had one request for his boutique staff. “His only demand was for everyone to have fun with the money.” I wonder if Roc Nation is hiring?
Mr. Carter has a lot to be happy about as of late. He recently premiered his performance art film for “Picasso Baby” on HBO, which featured performance artist Marina Abramovic, film director Judd Apatow, fans, and more.

But before we go any further, let me qualify what a dreamer is because people often don’t appreciate being called dreamers. In-fact, it’s almost an insult to call someone a dreamer these days. It’s associated with having your head in the clouds and not being realistic. So let me explain.
A dreamer is a person who is not afraid to challenge society’s norms and not afraid to tread their own path rather than following the well-trodden path. A dreamer is someone who is always willing to take a chance and always asks why before doing something that others are doing blindly. A dreamer is a person who has a great futuristic picture which they work to achieve at all costs. Dreamers are world changers.
Dreamers chart their own course and destiny. Dreamers are always striving to be the person they were meant to be and are not afraid to be different. I believe every one of us is born unique in every way, but over the years we work very hard to become like everyone else.
Motivation to achieve success - Don't follow the crowd Society’s commonsense tells us that that is the way to go. Unfortunately, commonsense is not always good-sense. It’s just common. If you are a dreamer you cannot afford to work on society’s assumptions and standards. You have to be unique.
For instance, a lot of people have spent anything from 15 to 20 years getting an education so they can have that perfect job and earn a huge salary. Unfortunately for most, the perfect job and the huge earnings never materialize. They only have the long hard years of work and loads of papers with unpronounceable names to show for it.
Most of them have lost touch with the very people they are working so hard to provide for - their husband, wife and children, all because of having to “work hard” for a living. Yet few ask themselves if there is a better way. They blindly follow what they’ve always been taught.
Motivation to achieve success - chart your own course I am here to tell you that there is another way. It’s not for everyone. It’s not the only way. It’s not the easier way. Actually, it is more likely to be the harder way. But I guarantee you it is the best way. It is simply this – follow your dreams. If you can think it, you can have it.
Following your dreams, however, is a process and comes at a price. What is the process and what is the price to be paid? Be patient. All will be revealed. Patience, by the way is part of it. Get-rich-quick and easy success schemes don’t last.

Some of them you may already know and others will be new. Whatever the case, you will pick up a number of useful ideas that may just make the difference between living in mediocrity and living a fulfilled life.
Brian Tracy states that “all successful men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.”

The late, great Andy Warhol makes news once again, not through a gallery showing or collaborative piece however, but by way of eBay. Sometime last year, a young man by the name of Andy Fields stumbled upon what he claims to be an early sketch by the 20th century pop artist depicting singer and actor Rudy Vallee. With Warhol’s signature at the bottom, the portrait was sent to the Andy Warhol Foundation for authentication, and although it has yet to be officially ratified by the foundation, some say this pencil and graphite sketch was completed when Warhol was around the age of 10 or 11. Having purchased the sketch for £3 GBP (approximately $5 USD), Fields took to eBay to sell this one-of-a-kind piece with a starting bid of £1,250,000 GBP (approximately $1,914,134 USD), proving to be quite the “come-up” as they say. If this drawing is truly authentic it’ll move the birth of Pop Art back nearly two decades, as Warhol had been experimenting with said style since childhood. Place your bid here.

For many artists, Art Basel Miami is an incomparable opportunity to have their work seen by the eyes of wealthy collectors, top gallery owners, curators from around the world…and Jay-Z. For 31-year old Chicago artist Hebru Brantley, brought to Basel as a finalist in the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Artisan Series, it wasn’t until the last day of the preeminent art fair that his work was discovered by the most distinguished of this pool of viewers, Mr. Shawn Carter himself.
Brantley’s piece “Everyone’s Scared,” which earned him a final spot in the annual Art Basel exhibit presented by Bombay Sapphire and Russell Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, sold to Jay for $20K on Sunday night.
When LeBron James’ manager Maverick Carter caught sight of the piece on Sunday, December 9th, he immediately knew it was the newest addition to the Shawn Carter Collection that the hip hop king had hoped to find in Miami this year. After being sent a digital image of the artwork, Jay-Z named his price and requested that Brantley deliver “Everyone’s Scared” directly to his hotel room later that evening.
