Tracey Emin Bed Sells for Millions
The dirty, unmade bed with yellowing sheets by British artist Tracey Emin has sold for £2,546,500 or $4,351,969 USD (including buyer’s premium) at a Christie’s auction in London. I already had my fun with the Emin bed last month, so I’ll keep it short. My Bed, the iconic, controversial work from 1998 more than doubled the auction estimate by Christie’s, but I’m not surprised at all. I thought it could have made much more than it did.
If I was running a small regional art museum I would have begged, borrowed and stolen to purchase the bed, whether I hated it or not! People would come to see the bed, even if it’s just to complain about how shit it is. You could sell them a postcard of it while they whinge and whine. Writers will continue to write about the work and your little regional museum would be mentioned again and again. If money was really tight you could even charge people money to have their photograph taken while sitting on the bed
Charles Saatchi bought the controversial work in 2000 for £150,000, which isn’t a bad investment return. Here’s what I had to say about the used bed previously.
Mrs Conservative By Traver Dodorye
Traver Dodorye recently created some pieces of work that will focus more on his upcoming marketing project. Who am I marketing will take a big hit to the fort Lauderdale area. Traver stated that being an artist can be tough with trying to get into galleries and doing art shows. Florida is a tough area to be an emerging artist with galleries showing more of international artists. This marketing project will certainly get people familiar with finding out who I am. This piece is not included in the project but was inspired to do.

"Fucked up in Pari" by Traver Dodorye
Recently the Miami based artist was inspired by some friends of his that were sharing there nocturnal nights visiting France. He stated that all three of them are working on a clothing line and went there to get a feel of the fashion atmosphere and just to see a different part of the world outside of New York.
Inside an Art Collector’s Converted Bunker in Berlin
For most people, a former Nazi Air raid shelter would not be considered an ideal place to live, but for art collecting couple Christian and Karen Boros, an early 1940s bunker in Berlin is the perfect home. Located in the central part of the city, the building has been modified into a spacious penthouse-cum-art haven that boasts a gallery and vast storage, a space that the Boros family is proud of. Enjoy the video above to find out more about what it’s like living in a part of history and check out Freunde von Freuden for more.
